Ever run for public office? When? Outcome?
1998, 2002, 2004 Senate District 21, 2000 Mayor City/County Honolulu. Lost each time.

Anything else you'd like voters to know about you?
40 years law enforcement with city, County, State and Federal experience. Huntington Park CA Police, L.A. District Attorney Investigator, Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, Hawaii Attorney General.

1) Why are you running for office?
To defeat the current rail proposal, and to solve the traffic problem by moving the issuance of driver's licenses for persons under 18 to the high schools, who will issue beginners permits by age and grade point average. Impound all unregistered vehicles, uninsured vehicles, vehicles driven by unlicensed drivers, and those with expired safety stickers.

2) With state revenue growth slowing, what are your top three priorities for government spending?
Defeat the current rail system, eliminate the HI5 by mandating that all beer and soft drinks and water, be sold only in aluminum cans. We used to be paid for the aluminum, but now only receive back $.05 of the $.06 tax we paid to buy the drink. People never pick up broken bottles, but always picked up and sold aluminum cans. No more taxes like this. This money should go to county not the state for garbage disposal.

3) What steps should the state take to reduce dependence on imported fossil fuel?
Build nuclear plants that would also desalinate water for use by the citizens. We are going to run out of potable water one of these days.

4) What's the No. 1 thing needed to improve Hawai'i public schools?
Get the state out of the education business and turn it over to the counties. To keep our children in school, make it so the only place a person under 18 can get a driver's license is while attending high school. Grades will determine when licenses are issued. A for 15 1/2, B for 16, C for 16 1/2, D for 17 and F for 17 1/2.

5) How should the state respond to financial difficulties at public and private hospitals?
Quit mandating all the coverage that the insurance companies must furnish for any full time employer. Leave that up to the employer and the employee, and union what will be covered by insurance.

6) What is the No. 1 quality-of-life issue facing Hawai'i, and what would you do about it?
Find a way to solve the problem of the homeless using our beautiful Waianae beaches to live on with ocean front property and the other citizens unable or unwilling to go to those beaches. Move the homeless onto state land away from the beaches and enforce the laws about drug use and sales on the beaches.

7) What's the No. 1 piece of legislation you'd work to pass in 2009?
Start impounding all illegally operated vehicles on our highways.
