1) Why are you running for office?
We have serious problems in the U.S. and we need representatives to help solve these problems. With my pass experience on the management team of a fortune 500 company. Being both a non-union and union laborer, owner of my own business, solving problems is what I do.
2) Should the U.S. set a timetable for withdrawal from Iraq? Explain.
Yes. We should get out the day after we finish our job in Iraq. It seems we are in the right direction in Iraq and we should not let up until our job there is finished. The surge is working in Iraq and both MaCain and Obamba are calling for more troops is Afghanistan they might know something I don't.
3) Should the federal government impose stricter fuel- and energy-efficiency standards on cars, appliances, etc.?
No. Congress will not solve this problem, but it should support the collective genius of the American entrepreneur and get out of their way.
Drill here drill now. If the world knows we are serious about solving our oil dependence problem the price of oil will come down immediately
4) How would you get affordable health care to more Americans?
Mandatory health insurance like mandatory auto insurance doesn't work, because it's mandatory doesn't mean everyone will have it.. Insurance must be made affordable and available to everyone. We must ask both sides of the isle, What can we do to make it work? Then listen. It's a problem we must solve.
5) Do you support the restriction that only U.S.-flagged cargo and passenger ships may serve Hawai'i? Why?
I believe that one of the reasons the cost of living is higher in Hawaii is all retail consumer goods imported to Hawaii that first goes through mainland ports must be transported to U.S. flagged ships allowed into Hawaii.
6) Do you support a Native Hawaiian recognition bill?
No, Not until I can sit down with all of the major voices within the Hawaiian people to find out just what it is they want.
7) What changes, if any, would you make to the No Child Left Behind education law?
We should scrap this program. Rather we must encourage those students that can excel. Not everyone is destined for college or to become Doctors. Every student must be given the ability to read, write, think, and take responsibility for their actions. Interesting our students in education is far more important than giving fake test so politicians can feel good about themselves.
8) What's the No. 1 piece of legislation you'd work to pass in 2009?
Both our tax and legal system have gotten out of control. I will work to bring justice back to the legal system. With a flat tax or a use tax we can bring fairness back to our tax system. With a use tax everyone pays their equal share of taxes base on what they spend. With a flat tax everyone pays on what they earn.
