Taiwan high-technology leader delivering two talks on Big Isle

HILO, Hawai
i — Taiwanese high-technology industry leader Matthew Miau will make two public appearances on the Big Island this week.

Miau is chairman of MiTac-Synnex Group, an alliance of computer and technology firms, and is a founder of Taiwan's personal computer industry.

While serving on several advisory groups, Miau has helped the Taiwan government plan and implement its information infrastructure, according to a news release.

He will speak at the University of HawaiI-Hilo School of Business from 3 to 4:15 p.m. today in Room 1 of Wentworth Hall. Tomorrow, he will speak at a luncheon sponsored by the Big Island Chamber of Commerce and UH-Hilo. The event will begin at 11:30 a.m. at Surt’s by the Bay in Hilo.
