High school sports calendar


TODAY

The Kaua'i boys basketball championship will be won and lost in a playoff between Waimea and Kapaa at Kapa'a, 7 p.m.

The ILH's mini-tournament to decide who gets the private-school league's third state berth begins at McCabe Gym on the St. Louis School campus. Hawaii Baptist carries the hopes of the league's small schools against Damien at 7:30.


TOMORROW

AT&T Wireless Boys State Soccer Championships open with eight unseeded teams playing at Aloha Stadium, starting at 1:30 p.m. Most intriguing matchups are Kamehameha vs. Aiea at 5:30 p.m. and Mililani vs. Kealakehe of Kona at 7:30.

OIA basketball reaches the semifinals of its championship tournament with Mililani playing at Leilehua and Kahuku visiting Kalaheo, both at 7:30 p.m.


THURSDAY

No. 1 Pearl City and the other three seeded teams play against first-round survivors in the AT&T Wireless Boys State Soccer Championships at Aloha Stadium.

The OIA boys basketball championship game will be played at 7 p.m. at Blaisdell Arena.

Semifinals of the ILH boys basketball mini-tournament will be played at Punahou. St. Louis, runner-up in the state last year, must win its game at 7 or forget about returning to next week's state championships.


FRIDAY

The final four of the AT&T Wireless Boys State Soccer Championships at Aloha Stadium, games at 5:30 and 7:30 p.m.

The ILH finds its third state boys basketball tournament team in a 7 p.m. game at Iolani.

Honokaa and Waiakea play for the Big Island boys basketball tournament championship at 7 p.m. at Hilo Civic. If Waiakea wins, they play again Saturday for the overall BIIF crown.


SATURDAY

Championship game of the AT&T Wireless Boys State Soccer Championships starts at 7:30 p.m. at Aloha Stadium. The OIA Outrigger Canoe Paddling Championship Regatta starts at 12:30 p.m. at Ke'ehi Lagoon.

The ILH will holds its first cheerleading (Pep Squad) championships at Kamehameha's Kekuhaupi'o Gym at 11 a.m.

The ILH Dual Meet Wrestling Championships will be held simultaneously on four mats at Punahou, starting at 10 a.m.
