Accounting professor Shirley Daniel has been named to the University of Hawaii’s Walker Chair, one of the most prestigious positions in the College of Business Administration.

Daniel is director of the Pacific Asian Management Institute and the Center for International Business Education and Research, and serves as interim director for the Center for Entrepreneurship and E-Business. In 14 years at UH, Daniel has brought nearly $15 million in grants to the business college.

The Henry A. Walker Jr. Distinguished Professor of Business Enterprise position was endowed by Amfac in 1982 and is awarded to a leader in research, instruction and public-private partnership. The position was last held by David McClain, dean of the business college.
