85-year-old visitor missing, last seen at Waikiki hotel

By Tino Ramirez
Advertiser Staff Writer

Joseph Bregante, an 85-year-old man visiting from San Francisco, has been missing since 4:30 a.m. yesterday, when he was last seen in the Halekulani Hotel courtyard.

Bregante’s daughter Diane Quinn said her father has dementia and may not ask for help.

He is 5-feet, 7-inches tall, weighs 170 pounds and is bald except for a ring of white hair at the back of his head. He was wearing a dark green aloha shirt with yellow flowers, a dark blue jacket, gray gabardine slacks, and green and grey tennis shoes.

Bregante was carrying a California identification card and has the hotel’s phone number in his wallet.

Quinn said she and her sister brought their father to Hawaii because this is his favorite vacation spot and he had not visited in many years.

Anyone who sees Bregante should call the police or the Hotel at 923-2311.
