MUST-SEE: "Life With Judy Garland: Me and My Shadows" conclusion, 8 p.m., ABC: When the first half of this miniseries concluded, Judy Garland had made one of her many comebacks. Her old career making musicals was over; so were her first two marriages. Now Sid Luft, who would become her third husband, had booked a concert tour. In tonights episode, her life swings through wild extremes.
At times, she triumphed as an actress and a singer. Even when she was unemployed, however, she kept a household staff of 13. This is a larger-than-life story that could have been emotional. Fortunately, its based on a good book by Garlands daughter, Lorna Luft. Judy Davis plays Garland superbly, making her more than just a shrieking prima dona. Here she is portrayed as a warm, emotional and richly talented person who never really got the hang of being a child, a grown-up or a real person.
"Boston Public," 7 p.m., Fox: There are big troubles for Harry Senate and for a cheerleading coach accused of molestation. There also is an opportunity for Scott Guber to expand his symphony work.
"King of Queens," 7 p.m., CBS: A guilty conscience causes Doug to drift into dream sequences. He ends up in "The Honeymooners," "Wheel of Fortune," "The Young and the Restless" and the football film "Brians Song."
"Everybody Loves Raymond," 8 p.m., CBS: In the season-opener, long-suffering Robert romanced an extremely beautiful woman in Italy. Now she visits him in America.
