Police have opened a homicide investigation in the death of a 41-year-old Kaneohe woman, whose body was found early this morning on the Fort Street Mall.

Responding to an anonymous tip, police found the body on the King Street side fronting the Ross Dress for Less store at 12:52 a.m. The body had no visible wounds, police said.

The woman was taken to Queen’s Medical Center where she was pronounced dead at 1:39 a.m.

The case was classified as a homicide following an autopsy performed today, police said.
