Bowl games, all day, various networks. Outback Bowl, 6 a.m. ESPN, Ohio State vs. South Carolina. Cotton Bowl, 6 a.m. Fox, Tennessee vs. Kansas State. Gator Bowl, 7:30 a.m., NBC, Virginia Tech vs. Clemson. Citrus Bowl, 8 a.m. ABC, Michigan vs. Auburn. Rose Bowl, 11:30 a.m., ABC, Purdue vs. Washington. Fiesta Bowl, 3 p.m., ABC. Notre Dame vs. Oregon State.

Brian Boitano’s Holiday Skating Spectacular, 1 p.m., NBC. Three Olympic gold medallists — Boitano, Kristi Yamaguchi and Dorothy Hamill — skate together for the first time.

Great Performances, 8 p.m., PBS. The Vienna Symphony has its annual New Year’s concert.

Ally McBeal, 8 p.m., Fox. This reruns the season-opener and includes superb scenes introducing Robert Downey Jr.
