Weddings


Tracy Ann Chalfant-Briar, daughter of Robert and Susan Chalfant of Muncie, Ind., and Joel and Sharon Taylor of Red Key, Ind., married Robert Edward Hoevel, son of Beatrice Hoevel of Fort Wayne, Ind., and the late Donald Hoevel, on Dec. 29 at St. Anthony’s Church in Kailua. The reception followed at Kalama Beach Club. The bride (1983 Jay County High, Vincennes University associate’s), now Tracy Hoevel, is an office manager and has a son, Shea Michael Briar, 12. The groom (1980 Bishop Dwenger High, Indiana University-Purdue University at Fort Wayne associate’s), is the owner of a business. They live in Kailua.

Jaretta Harris, daughter of Emma L. Harris and Eddie Johnson of Gray, La., married Duane Edward Walther, son of Catherine M. Walther of Barron, Wis., and the late Richard G. Walther, on Dec. 29, at Schofield Barracks Soldiers Chapel. The reception followed at the Nehelani Club in Schofield Barracks. The bride (2000 Chaminade University bachelor’s), now Jaretta E. Walther, formerly of Gray, is a soldier in the U.S. Army. The groom, formerly of Barron, is a soldier in the U.S. Army and a college student. They have four children - Katie Walther, 12; LeAnne Seal, 9; Madison Walther, 9; and Lenny Seal II, 7 - and they live in Mililani.
