UH-Hilo sweeps BYUH

Stanley Ibia scored 23 points and Alan Thomas added 19 as the University of Hawaii-Hilo defeated Brigham Young-Hawaii, 90-86, last night for a sweep of a two-game Pacific West Conference basketball series at Afook-Chinen Civic Auditorium in Hilo.

Hilo is 8-8 overall, 3-4 in the Pacific West. BYUH is 9-7 and 3-4.

On Friday night, Hilo rallied from a 60-40 deficit to defeat BYUH, 86-82.

Last night, Ibia was 9 of 12 from the field. Lamont Young led the Seasiders with 23 points.

Friday night, Ibia scored a game-high 24 points for Hilo. Kerry Hendrickson and Adam Evans each had 15 points for BYUH.

Hawaii Pacific 97, Chaminade 82: Nick Spajic scored 24 points and Michael Paul had 17 to lift Hawaii Pacific to a victory over Chaminade in a Pacific West Conference game last night at McCabe Gym.

Hawaii Pacific is 8-8 overall, 3-4 in the Pacific West. Chaminade is 9-7, 3-4.

Spajic was 11 of 15 from the field, including two 3-pointers. Paul was 5 of 6 in field-goal attempts.

Drew Robinson scored 20 points and CJ Cowgill 17 for the Silverswords.
