St. Louis outlasts Kamehameha

Advertiser Staff

Frank Rivers scored all four of his team’s points in the overtime and Kamehameha’s Sean Uyehara missed two free throws with no time left as St. Louis defeated Kamehameha, 36-35, in an Interscholastic League of Honolulu basketball game yesterday at McCabe Gym.

Uyehara was fouled while attempting a 10-footer by Rivers. Uyehara’s first free-throw attempt rattled in and out. After a St. Louis timeout, Uyehara’s second attempt to tie and force a second overtime hit the back of the rim and bounced out.

Nalu Perkins made a three-point play for all of Kamehameha’s points in the overtime.

Both teams are 4-2, tied with Punahou in second place behind Iolani (6-0).
