Kennedy late-night slots are filled
Two plays have been confirmed to complete the Late Nights at Kennedy Theatre slate this year.
Performances, at the Earle Ernst Lab Theatre, will be as follows:
"Dream-Tease," at 10:45 p.m. Saturday and Feb. 9 and 10, and 8 p.m. Sunday. Elmiera Tereshchenko directs a macabre performance, with elements of the grotesque, fantastic and dark comedy.
"Zanni Got His Gun," at 10:30 p.m. March 9, 10, 16 and 17. Tony Pisculli directs this commedia dellart war epic loaded with crusty battlefront cliches, lots of physical comedy and sight gags.

Operas preview at art academy
Hawaii Opera Theatres 2001 season kicks off Friday with "The Tales of Hoffmann" at Blaisdell Concert Hall. The other productions are "The Marriage of Figaro," opening Feb. 16, and "Cavalleria Rusticana" and "Pagliacci," beginning March 2.
Opera previews, offering show-goers an insight into each production, are being held at the Honolulu Academy of Arts as follows:
"Figaro," at 10 a.m. Feb. 7 and 4 p.m. Feb. 10.
"Cavalleri" and "Pagliacci," at 10 a.m. Feb. 21 and 4 p.m. Feb. 24.
Admission: $3, free for HOT and academy members.
