Hunter Education classes focus on safety issues

Free Hunter Education classes are being offered by the Hawaii Department of Land & Natural Resources.

Classes, open to anyone 10 years or older, will be offered:

March 16-17, April 20-21 at Nimitz Business Center, 1130 N. Nimitz Highway, #A-151 (building facing Nimitz, ground floor). March 16, April 20 from 5:45 p.m. to 10:15 p.m. March 17, April 21 from 7:45 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

March 23-24 at Schofield Barracks No. 2108. March 23 from 5:45 p.m. to 10:15 p.m. March 24 from 7:45 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

April 6-7 at Waianae Public Library (after the Waianae Fire Station same side on road). April 6 from 5:45 p.m. to 10:15 p.m.; April 7 from 7:45 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Subjects covered include firearms and archery safety, survival and first aid, wildlife identification and conservation, rules and regulations, game care, and outdoor responsibility. Attendance for all sessions required for certification. Picture ID at the door is required.
