Waikiki Aquarium offers several classes

Future marine biologists, the Waikiki Aquarium has got the classes for you.

Here are some upcoming events ideal for families:

Exploring the Reef at Night: 8 to 10:30 p.m. Friday. Explore the underwater night life at the aquarium and learn about coral reefs, ecology, conservation and safety. Minimum age is 5 years old, and all youngsters must be accompanied by adults. Cost: $10 for those 16 years and older, $8 for children under 16 ($8 and $6 for Waikiki Aquarium members).

Aquarium After Dark: 7 to 9 p.m. March 16. The Waikiki Aquarium comes to life at night during this flashlight tour. Youngsters must be accompanied by an adult; $7 for those 16 years and older, $6 for children under 16 ($6 and $5 for members).

Fishing and the Fish: 8 to 11 a.m. March 18. Learn the science of fishing at this hands-on workshop. From fish habits to habitats, this field trip is an "edu-venture" for the entire family. Participants must provide their own transportation to the site, which has not been announced yet. Cost: $12 for those 16 years and older, $8 for children under 16 ($10 and $6 for members).
