Students go to sea

Raymond W. William of the USS Hopper talked with students from Waipahu Intermediate School during a day of sea trials on the Hopper last month. The four students, chosen for their outstanding service at school, were selected to board the Aegis-class destroyer for a day at sea. The trip was part of the Partnership in Education Program, which links Waipahu Intermediate School students with Hopper crew members. The ship's crew has supported the program with beautification projects, recreational activities, mentoring and tutoring since early January.
