April 18: Guest chef dinner at The Pearl Dining Room, 5:30 p.m. at Leeward Community College. Culinary students join forces with chef/owner George Mavrothalassitis, Chef Mavro's Restaurant and executive chef Eric Leterc, Pacific Beach Hotel to present a four-course dinner paired with wines. $55 per person plus tax and tip. 455-0475.

April 20 and 22: "The Joy of Food and Wine," a two-day food and wine festival, a benefit for the Rehabilitation Hospital of the Pacific. A southern French dinner paired with wines for the region on April 20, prepared by Yves Garnier, chef de cuisine of La Mer, at the Halekulani Hotel; $250 per person.
