TONIGHT'S MUST-SEE: "Second Sight," part of PBS' "Mystery" series, 8 p.m., PBS. Last season, a two-parter introduced us to Chief Inspector Ross Tanner. As played by Clive Owen, he's intense, smart and crumbling; he's desperately hiding the fact that he's going blind. So far, the only person to figure it out is a young cop (Claire Skinner) who is also his lover.
TONIGHT'S OTHER MUST-SEE: "ER," 9 p.m., NBC. Roll out the VCRs. "ER" repeats the episode in which Doug Ross (George Clooney) rescued a boy from a culvert during a fierce rainstorm. It's an exciting hour, superbly filmed.
"A Gathering of Guitars, Brozman, Pahinui and Ka'apana," 7:30 p.m., KHET (repeats at 10:30 p.m. Sunday). Another in the continuing "Na Mele" music series, this segment features slack key artist Ledward Ka'apana and Cyril Pahinui with steel guitar master Bob Brozman in an in-studio concert.
"Survivor: The Australian Outback," 7 p.m., CBS. Now things are down to the final seven people.
"Bang the Drum Slowly" (1973), 8:30 p.m., AMC. Here's a beautifully acted baseball drama about a star pitcher (Michael Moriarty) and his favorite catcher played by a young Robert De Niro.
