UH's Theocharidis is Player of the Week

Hawai'i outside hitter Costas Theocharidis, who helped the Warriors win three matches on the road last week, has been named Mountain Pacific Sports Federation volleyball Player of the Week.
Theocharidis amassed 96 kills, 19 blocks and 26 digs in four matches against UCLA and UC Irvine.
BOXING
Jr. Olympics bouts: The 2001 Hawai'i State Junior Olympic Boxing Championships will be held April 14 at the Wai'anae Regional Park Gym.
The card will feature eight to 10 bouts, starting at 7 p.m.
Returning national bronze medalists Ronald Cordeiro and Glenn Miyose, both of Wai'anae, are expected to compete.
The winners will advance to the national championships in Marquette, Mich., June 15-24. Winners of this event will box in the first under-17 world championships at Azerbaijan in October.

TENNIS
Women's Night Doubles: The Women's Night Doubles, a professional tennis tournament, will be held from April 23-28 at the Kailua Racquet Club.
The eight-team invitational is a USTA sanctioned event and will feature female tennis players competing for more than $2,000 in prize money.
Activities include a silent auction and live auction. A portion of the proceeds will go to the Women's Services at the Castle Medical Center.

GOLF
Po'ipu in top 100: Kaua'i's Po'ipu golf shop was recognized as one of America's 100 Best Golf Shops for 2001 by Golf World Business magazine.
The Po'ipu Golf Course is a Robert Trent Jones, Jr. design located on 210 oceanfront acres along Kaua'i's south coast.
The course has played host to the annual PGA Grand Slam of Golf, where golfers compete for $1 million purse.
