RUTH YAMAMOTO LAUTERWALD, age 61, died March 27, 2001. A 1957 Kaua'i High School graduate, she taught in schools in Missouri, California, Alaska and Hawai'i and was last a reading specialist in the remote Eskimo village of Togiak, accessible only by snowmobile or airplane. Survived by husband, Totila; son Gary Yamamoto; daughter, Cheryl Yamamoto; brothers, James Yamamoto, Gary Yamamoto and Clyde Yamamoto. Private service to be held.
