Baldwin's Tabion commits to Wahine

Advertiser Staff

Baldwin's Shannon Tabion, the state high school softball pitcher of the year, has verbally committed to the University of Hawai'i, according to her father, David Tabion.

Tabion was also recruited by Hawai'i Pacific and Hawai'i-Hilo, according to David Tabion.

"She wanted to play Division I (softball)," David Tabion said. "UH was the only Division I that offered her."

Tabion led Baldwin to its first state softball title on Feb. 3. In the final against Kamehameha, Tabion pitched a three-hitter with six strikeouts as Baldwin defeated Kamehameha, 1-0, at the Rainbow Wahine Softball Stadium.
