Aloha Tower looking for memories

The Aloha Tower Marketplace is preparing to celebrate the tower's 75th anniversary and is seeking people who recall attending its grand opening in 1926.

Marketplace officials hope to find local people who can talk story about the original opening and even provide photos or memorabilia from that time. Aloha Tower anniversary festivities will begin with an April 28 event — a tower blessing, a lei contest, a giant lei presentation and a time for reminiscences — and continue over the next few months, culminating in a birthday celebration in September.
