UH events affected by faculty strike

Schedules have changed for some events at the University of Hawai'i-Manoa. Other events may also be affected because of the strike by University of Hawai'i Professional Assembly members. Contact ticket offices directly for more information.

• Contingency plans have been announced for a long-planned production of "Faust" at the University of Hawai'i's Kennedy Theatre:

If classes resume tomorrow, the production will debut as scheduled on April 19, but the April 17 and 18 preview performances will be canceled.

If classes resume Wednesday, the first two scheduled shows, April 19 and 20, will be canceled and the premiere will be April 21, with subsequent performances continuing as scheduled.

If the strike goes beyond Wednesday, a further announcement will be made.

Ticket sales will resume as soon as the strike ends. Information: 956-7655.

• Tonight's performance by the UH Gamelan Ensemble has been canceled. No new date has been announced.

• The UH Symphony Orchestra performance scheduled for tomorrow has been postponed to 8 p.m. on April 23 at the Blaisdell Concert Hall.
