2nd arrest made in Punalu'u home robbery

Police have arrested a second person in the home-invasion robbery of a Punalu'u couple on April 5.

Police arrested the 17-year-old boy yesterday after he was identified in a photo lineup, and have filed a petition to have him tried as an adult. He was arrested on suspicion of robbery, kidnapping, burglary and auto theft, police said.

Police already have charged Warren Elicker, 23, with first-degree robbery, kidnapping, first-degree burglary and auto theft. His bail was set at $100,000.

Police said the robbery happened about 3 p.m. last Thursday when a 62-year-old resident of the home on Kamehameha Highway allowed a man to use his phone. The man's accomplice snuck into the house, and they tied up the homeowner.

A short time later, the resident's 60-year-old wife arrived. She also was bound.

The robbers stole several items, then each took one of the couple's cars.
