Sony Open charities get $600,000

The Friends of Hawai'i Charities and Charity Partner, and the Harry & Jeanette Weinberg Foundation announced the distribution of $600,000 toward 83 Hawai'i charities and non-profit organizations.

The announcement was made yesterday at a Friends of Hawai'i Charities luncheon at Wai'alae Country Club, home of the Sony Open in Hawai'i golf tournament, the organization's flagship event.

In the past three years, the PGA Tour event and the charity have helped generate more than $1.4 million for 174 local charities
