TONIGHT'S MUST-SEE: "Making the Band," second-season premiere, 7 p.m., ABC. A major flub makes this opener interesting. For a live ABC performance (in the Miss America telecast), producers foolishly tried a complicated number with the newly formed boy band. When the feedback system failed in the singers' earphones, the song was a botch, leaving the question of whether O-Town has any real talent. But the group faced down the problem by ignoring the technical setback and singing a cappella in New York's historic Apollo Theatre. That's what we see tonight in an interesting start for the new season.
"Cliffhanger" (1993), 8 p.m., TNT. When a fortune ends up in the mountains, a good guy (Sylvester Stallone) and a bad one (John Lithgow) go in pursuit.
"The Fugitive," 8 p.m., CBS. Connie Britton ("Fighting Fitzgeralds") guests as Kimble's sister. Her death might be averted if he surrenders and provides a bone-marrow transplant.
"Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band," 9:30 p.m., HBO. Here's a second chance to catch this special, which was taped during two Madison Square Garden concerts.
