So your wee ones just want to have fun on a weekend, but you've been wanting to spend the time scouting out new learning opportunities for the kids? It turns out that you all can get your goals met at the 10th annual Great Keiki & Teen Fest, running 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday and April 22 at Kapi'olani Park.

More than 150 organizations and agencies are providing educational activities in five themed areas: Care of the Earth; Safety and Health; Education and Summer Fun; Arts and Humanities; and Sports and Fitness. Organizers call the event "an opportunity for children and their parents to learn about Hawai'i's finest products, services, agencies and organizations, environmental protection and educational programs." And there's more to see and try on top of all that: a parade of school bands at 10 a.m. Saturday, a food court, an assortment of inflatable jumpers, continuous entertainment, free tennis clinics and lots more.

The event is presented by Atlantis Adventures, the City and County of Honolulu, The Advertiser, Hawaiian Electric Co., MeadowGold Dairies and the Hawaii Medical Service Association. For information, call 973-9815.
