You don't have to be a child to enjoy a good story. Thanks to the Bishop Museum, kids of all ages (yes, including adults) will be able to take pleasure in a day full of storytelling.

In honor of renowned Hawaiian storyteller Mary Kawena Pukui, the museum will present a Storytelling Festival 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. In honor of the late cultural expert's birthday on Friday, the event will feature storytelling and hands-on workshops by more than 20 performers at seven locations on the museum grounds. Each location will have a focus, such as children's storytelling, Hawaiian-language storytelling, and puppetry and musical instruments. Performers include "Auntie" Nona Beamer, Naomi Losch, Makia Malo, Nyla Fujii and Calvin Hoe.

Admission for residents and military with valid ID is $3 per person, $10 for a family of four (two adults, two children ages 4-12); nonresidents, $14.95; Bishop Museum Association members, free. Call 848-4160 or 847-8243 for more information.
