Punahou drops St. Louis from first

Punahou rallied for four runs in the sixth inning yesterday to notch a 7-5 comeback victory over St. Louis in Interscholastic League of Honolulu baseball at Aloha Stadium.
The win knocked St. Louis (8-4) out of first place and lifted Punahou (8-4) into a tie for second, a half game behind 'Iolani and Mid-Pacific, both 8-3.
'Iolani defeated Maryknoll, 8-2, while Mid-Pacific routed Kamehameha, 9-1, yesterday.
The Buffanblu, trailing 4-3 in the sixth, set up their big rally by loading the bases with one out. St. Louis brought in ace pitcher Brandon League to face Justin Ariki. Ariki singled home Kevin Sahara, and Ryan Kitamura followed with another single to drive in Ryan Shimizu.
One out later, Spencer Kam stroked a two-run single to center field to give Punahou a 7-4 lead.___

MID-PACIFIC 9, KAMEHAMEHA 1: Ricky Bauer pitched a two-hitter, striking out seven and walking none to lead the Owls. The only hits he allowed were singles by Alika Kuraoka and Jherell Miller, both in the fifth inning.
Mid-Pacific took a two-run lead in the first inning on a sacrifice fly by Isaac Omura and an error. The Owls made it 4-0 in the second on a two-run single by Kyle Yanabu.
Darrell Hom's RBI single in the third made it 5-0.
Mid-Pacific extended its lead to 7-0 in the forth on a sacrifice fly by Omura and an RBI single by Clint Copulos.
Kamehmeha pitchers hit five batters in the game.
