TONIGHT'S MUST-SEE: "When Billie Beat Bobby," 8 p.m., ABC. Back in 1973, Bobby Riggs had been a fine tennis player before deteriorating into loose living. At 55, he claimed he could beat any woman. Taking up the challenge was Billie Jean King, 29 at the top of her game. This silly match reached prime time on ABC. Then King ended the nonsense with an easy win. This is a story that needs to be both serious and humorous. The stars (Holly Hunter and Ron Silver) play their roles fairly broadly. Anderson adds odd moments, but keeps a solid core.
"The Weakest Link," 7 p.m., NBC. First there was "Who Wants To Be a Millionaire" and then "Survivor." Now NBC hopes to have even greater success with "The Weakest Link." "It basically is the first show in (England) to beat 'Millionaire,' " says network chief Scott Sassa.
"David Blaine: Frozen in Time: Blaine's Cut," 7 p.m., ABC. Think of this as a semi-rerun. It reshows a stunt with Blaine frozen in ice for three days, with new footage.
"Boston Public," 7 p.m., Fox. While Harper faces repercussions from the killing of a student, Guber (his vice-principal) is happy to be back in the classroom.
