Leeward planning dance festival

Leeward Community Theatre is presenting its Dance Festival 2001 at 8 p.m. April 27 and 28 at the LCC Theatre. A variety of dance styles — jazz, musical theater, hip-hop — and taiko drumming will be presented. Performers will include the LCC Dance Ensemble, Hypersquad, Mid-Pacific School of the Arts, Seabury Hall Dance Ensemble from Maui, Kenny Endo's Taiko Center of the Pacific drummers and the Rufus Jones Dance Project. Star of the Sea carnival this week

The Star of the Sea Carnival will be held from 3 to 11 p.m.

Friday and from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday at the school campus. The event features a midway of E.K. Fernandez games and rides, a craft fair, a silent auction, food booths, plant sale and entertainment. From 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Saturday, a $15 wristband purchase will entitle wearers to unlimited rides on midway attractions.
