Culinary Calendar

FRIDAY

Winez & Grindz, 5-9 p.m., Pineapple Room; food-sampling five-course dinner $49 or $64 with wines. 945-8881.

The Joy of Food and Wine benefit, two-day fund-raiser for the Rehabilitation Hospital of the Pacific, Friday and Sunday. $60 (seating limited). Information and tickets: REHAB Foundation, 544-3385. Tickets are sold out for Friday, but still available for Sunday.

SATURDAY

Just Desserts, a class on eggless, dairyless baking with Eileen Towata, 9:30-11:45 a.m. at Lyon Arboretum. $22; 988-0456.

Extremely Lunches, a hands-on demonstration cooking class for kids at Kapi'olani Community College. From 9 a.m. to noon, class is for kids ages 7-12; 1-4 p.m. class is for kids 12 to 17. Instructor: Lori Wong. $15; 734-9211.

Ho'okipa 2001, a benefit for students of Kapi'olani Community College's food Service and Hospitality Education Program. $200; 734-9484. The event was scheduled for Saturday but was postponed because of the strike.


Correction: Tickets for Friday's portion of the Joy of Food and Wine Benefit are sold out; tickets for Sunday's wine-tasting portion of the fund-raiser are still available. And Ho'okipa 2001, a benefit for students of the Kapi'olani Community College Food Service and Hospitality Education Program, originally scheduled for tomorrow, was postponed because of the strike. Because of a production error, incorrect information appeared in a previous version of this calendar.
