Top blues bands coming to Kaua'i

The Jesse Colin Young Band, with special guests Corky Siegel and the Smokin' Joe Kubek Band with Bnois King, will be featured in the Kaua'i outing of the Hawaiian Islands Rhythm 'n' Blues Mele 2001, from 4 p.m. May 20 at the Kaua'i War Memorial Convention Hall in Lihu'e. Also on the bill: Swamp Daddy, Titus Kinimaka and the Kaua'i Boys, and Michael Barretto.

The schedule:

  • 4 to 6 p.m.: Beer Garden Dance Party, with Swamp Daddy, convention hall.
  • 6 to 7:30 p.m.: Smokin' Joe Kubek with Bnois King, theater.
  • 7:30 to 8:30 p.m.: Titus Kinimaka and the Kaua'i Boys, convention hall.
  • 8:30 to 10 p.m.: Jesse Colin Young with Corky Siegel, theater.
  • 10 to 11p.m.: Beer Garden Dance Party, with Swamp Daddy, convention hall.
