Keli'i Correa hit two home runs and Kamehameha exploded for nine runs in the final two innings last night as the Warriors routed Punahou 16-8 in Interscholastic League of Honolulu baseball action at Ala Wai Field.
The two teams finished the regular season tied for fourth place at 8-6. Earlier in the day, Mid-Pacific beat Damien 3-0 to clinch a tie for the regular-season title. The schedule will be completed with two make-up games today, and the ILH postseason tournament begins Thursday, with all eight teams participating.
Correa, a senior who bats cleanup, blasted a 380-foot shot into the Ala Wai canal to lead off the bottom of the fifth inning and followed with a 390-foot, two-run homer to right-center in the sixth. The first home run gave Kamehameha an 8-6 lead; the Warriors had gone up 7-6 in the fourth on an RBI double by Jherell Miller and an error.
After Correa's first home run, Kamehameha added three more runs in the fifth inning on two hits and an error.
Correa is tied with Mid-Pacific's Isaac Omura for the ILH home run lead with four. MPI plays Pac-Five today in its regular-season finale.
"I'm happy for Keli'i, because he's one of the guys who's been consistent for us all year," Kamehameha coach Vern Ramie said. "He's worked very hard, so he deserves to have success."
Ramie and Correa said the Warriors, who have won four of their past five games, are finding success through teamwork.
"We had a meeting, and we talked about jelling and playing more as a team," Correa said. "We want to go full-force against every opponent."

SOFTBALL
'Iolani's Izumi to UH: 'Iolani's Noelle Izumi, a 5-foot-7 infielder, has signed to play for the University of Hawai'i Wahine softball team next year.
Izumi was a three-time All-State and All-Interscholastic League of Honolulu selection, as she helped the Red Raiders to two state softball titles her sophomore and junior years.
She batted .306 this year.
"She can change a game with her offense of defense. She is one of the more athletic players in the state," said Chris Shimabukuro, 'Iolani's softball coach.
Izumi and Baldwin's ace pitcher Shannon Tabion were the fourth and fifth recruits to sign with Hawai'i's Softball program for 2002.
TENNIS
Jobe headed to Saint Louis: Ikaika Jobe, Hawai'i's top-ranked teen tennis player, has signed a scholarship agreement with Saint Louis University.
Jobe, a senior at Punahou from Wailupe Circle, is ranked No. 1 in 18-year-old boys singles by the Hawai'i Pacific Section of the United States Tennis Association and was 60th in singles and 11th in doubles nationally in last month's 18s rankings.
He was the 1999 state high schools singles champion.
Jobe said he picked Saint Louis over University of California-Santa Barbara, Santa Clara and UC-Irvine because of its school of aviation. He wants to be a pilot.
The men's coach at Saint Louis is Derek Mills, who was born in Honolulu and was an assistant coach at Brigham Young-Hawai'i in 1997-98.
