Weddings

Helen Hsin, daughter of Chung Ta Hsin and Frances Hsin of Salt Lake, married Kirk Wayne Masami Nakamoto, son of Wayne and Joan Nakamoto of Pearl City, on March 24 at the Kahala Mandarin Oriental. A reception followed at the hotel. The bride (1991 St. Andrew's Priory, 1995 Occidental College bachelor's, 1999 University of Hawai'i master's), now Helen Hsin Nakamoto, is a staff accountant. The groom (1991 'Iolani School, 1994 Michigan State University bachelor's, 2000 UH master's) is a bank branch manager. They live in Honolulu.

DeAnn Kae Johnson, daughter of Gordon Johnson of Minot, N.D., and the late Leona Johnson, married Nelson Galam Acosta, son of Domingo and Josephine Acosta of Waikele, on Jan. 27 at First Presbyterian Church in Honolulu. A reception followed at the Sheraton Waikiki Hotel. The bride (1979 Minot High, 1983 North Dakota State University-Fargo bachelor's, 1997 University of Minnesota-Minneapolis master's), formerly of Minot, now DeAnn Acosta, is a youth development specialist. The groom (1985 Waialua High, 1991 University of Hawai'i-Manoa bachelor's) is a teen director. They live in Mililani.

Engagement

Michele Acosta and Herbert Pascua have announced their engagement. Acosta and Pascua, both of Kapolei, plan to marry May 26.
