• YWCA OF O'AHU chief operating officer CHERYL LEHUA KA'UHANE adds the additional title of president with her recently announced promotion from chief operating officer and senior vice president. Ka'uhane is also owner of the "Broke the Mouth" retail food service business offering Hawaiian meals made from locally grown — and indigenous — produce.

• GARY SLOVIN, attorney with the law firm of Goodsill Anderson Quinn & Stifel, has been named chairman of the Aloha United Way 2001 fund-raising campaign, which kicks off Aug. 30. The drive is the state's largest annual fund-raising campaign. Last year's campaign raised $13.5 million for charitable causes, an $100,000 increase over 1999.

• LISA A. BAIL, an expert in environmental law and commercial litigation, has become a partner with Goodsill Anderson Quinn & Stifel.

• SIDNEY AYABE, managing partner of Ayabe, Chong, Nishimoto, Sia & Nakamura, has been elected by members of the Hawai' State Bar Association to serve a six-year term on the Judicial Selection Commission. The commission screens applicants for appointment and retention to the state Supreme Court, Intermediate Court of Appeals, district and circuit courts.

• JERRY PUPILLO has been promoted to assistant general manager at the 25-acre Hawaiian Waters Adventure Park. He will be responsible for sales, marketing and promotions for both residents and East- and West-bound visitors. He also oversees corporate and group sales.

• LORA HAN, former manager of public relations for Hilton Hawaiian Village, has been hired as communications and public relations manager for the DFS (Duty Free Shoppers) Hawai'i.

• BANK OF HAWAI'I has appointed five new vice presidents: LINDA LEWIS, community development lender, with a focus on financing for the housing and economic development needs of low- and moderate-income individuals and communities. She will also coordinate the governmental guarantee and agriculture lending programs for the bank. GENE TSUJI, a construction and income property loan officer in the commercial real estate division, responsible for commercial real estate loan opportunities and management of a commercial real estate loan portfolio.CHANELLE AKAMINE, senior lease officer in bank subsidiary, Pacific Century Leasing, overseeing commercial equipment leasing opportunities, and portfolio. NELLY SAMPAGA, operations development group manager, charged with developing and supporting the bank's information systems for the branch system, backroom operations and product groups. DANA TAKUSHI, corporate banking division, a relationship manager for large Hawai'i-based companies, and Mainland-based companies with headquarters in Northern California and the Pacific Northwest.

• HOSPICE HAWAI'I has announced several promotions and hirings: AURORA PUYOT, promoted from billing clerk to bookkeeper, assisted by HAZEL FERNANDO, promoted from data entry clerk to billing clerk. New hires include SUSAN KOUCHI, medical records clerk; and registered nurses; TERRI O'ROUKE, registered nurse case manager; and BARBARA NOWAK, the facility's second patient care coordinator.

• PAULINE OSBORNE, former chief financial officer and treasurer of the Queen's Health Systems, has been named chief financial officer of the University of Hawai'i Foundation. Also, former Chaminade University of Honolulu director of development, RICHARD L. "RICK" FRISCH, has been named to the newly created foundation position of vice president for development. The 27-year veteran of non-profit management and fund raising, was most recently former executive director for the University of Arizona Foundation's $1 billion capital campaign.

• LINDA A. GEE has been named vice president of investment sales and leasing for the Honolulu office of national commercial real estate firm, PM Realty Group.
