Born: Honolulu, Hawai'i

Culinary background: "Hilo Community College; worked in a number of private clubs on the Mainland and the Plaza Club in Honolulu before starting 3660 on the Rise and Kaka'ako Kitchen restaurants. I like home-style baking with a twist. I try to keep everything fresh, using seasonal fruits, and simple. I love to cook with mangoes, especially a warm compote of mangoes over shortcake or cheesecake."

Favorites:

Meal: Everything from appetizers to desserts at Fleur de Lys restaurant in San Francisco.

Comfort food: Saimin.

Cooking show: "Iron Chef."

Kitchen tool: Kitchen Aid mixer.

When I'm not working: "I like to read, paddle my kayak, shop, spend time with my daughter, Skye, and watch movies."

When I go out to eat: "I like to go to Alan Wong's and Hoku's because the food is always good and everyone is always so nice."

If I could invite any three people to dinner: "I would invite my dad, Oprah Winfrey and Jackie O (Onassis)."

My dream job: "To work with all the top pastry chefs of the world."
