Tomorrow begins part two of the "Back To School Jam."

With 183,000 public school students headed back to class after the 19-day public school teachers' strike, motorists need to get back into their regular commuting habits, said state Department of Transportation spokeswoman Marilyn Kali. That means drivers should leave at least a half-hour earlier than they have the last three weeks.

"People need to get going a little earlier," Kali said. "There are going to be a lot of cars back on the road."

State construction projects along O'ahu's freeways and highways should not affect school traffic since they all begin after 8:30 a.m., Kali said.
