Also starring Kip Pardue, Robert Sean Leonard, Estella Warren, Gina Gershon, Brent Briscoe. "IN THE MOOD FOR LOVE": The setting is Hong Kong 1962, where Chau, the editor of a local newspaper, moves with his wife to a Shanghai community. He soon meets Li-chun, a married woman who lives in the same building, and because their spouses are often away from home, the two spend more and more time together. The pair become great friends, but one day find out the awful truth that their partners are having an affair. Opens tomorrow at Varsity Twin. (PG).
"MOMENTO": An insurance investigator (Guy Pearce) loses his short-term memory when he sustains a head injury during his wife's murder. He can now remember things only through notes, photographs or writing them on his body. As he tries to track down the killer despite his handicap, the story moves backward in time to retrace his steps with him. Opens tomorrow at Varsity Twin. (R).
"ONE NIGHT AT MCCOOL'S": This black comedy tells the story of three men (Matt Dillon, Paul Reiser, John Goodman), each of whom thinks he has found the woman of his dreams. "TOWN AND COUNTRY": Warren Beatty stars as Porter Stoddard, an architect in a midlife crisis who leaves his wife (Diane Keaton) to seek what he thinks he's missing, in affairs with other women. If Warren can reheat his "Reds" chemistry with Diane Keaton and his Shampoo chemistry with Goldie Hawn, we might be willing to overlook the fact he's too old to be running around like this. Opens tomorrow at Dole Cannery 18 Theatres, Restaurant Row Theatres, Kahala 8-Plex, Pearl Highlands 12, Pearlridge West 16-Plex, Kapolei 16-Plex, Mililani 14-Plex, Keolu Center Cinemas, Ko'olau 10-Plex, Keauhou 7-Plex (Big Island), Prince Kuhio Stadium Cinemas (Big Island), Makalapua Cinemas (Big Island), Coconut Marketplace Cinemas (Kaua'i), Kukui Mall 4-Plex (Maui), Maui Mall Megaplex Cinemas (Maui).
