Motorcycle officer injured in collision

A motorcycle officer was hospitalized yesterday after a collision with a pickup near the Hungry Lion coffee shop on School Street.

The officer was 'ewa-bound when he collided with a truck turning left into the Hungry Lion lot about 5:30 a.m., police said. Another truck may have obscured the officer's vision.

The officer complained of chest and shoulder pain and was taken to the Queen's Medical Center in good condition. The driver of the pickup was not hurt. No charges will be filed, police said.
