The United States Coast Guard Auxiliary is offering a boating safety course.

Today and May 5 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m, the Coast Guard will teach participants about boat handling, safety equipment, aids to navigation, knots, boating problems, trailering, anchoring, and storing and protecting your boat.

Classes will be held at the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ. Instruction is free, call Barbara Minton at 254-2601 to enroll.


BOAT SHOW

Hawai'i Boat Show: The Hawai'i Boat Show and Ocean Expo that will be held at the Ko Olina Resort and Marina on May 25-27. Games, and educational hands-on activities, along with exhibits by suppliers, manufacturers and dealers, will be featured at the three-day event. Other activities include single-paddler canoe races. longcasting demonstrations and a fish recipe contest.

RUNNING

Sugar Mill Run: The Sugar Mill Run, a 5-kilometer run/walk will take place Sunday in Waipahu at 7 a.m.

The entry fee is $20, in advance, and $25 the day of the race. Children 10 and under are free.

The fee includes a T-shirt and refreshments. Race applications can be found in Hawai'i Race Magazine or can be downloaded from www.TimersPlus.com.
