Tell us about your 'ohana
We're extending the deadline until Aug. 7 for you to write to the 'Ohana section about the pros and cons of living with several generations under one roof.
In Hawai'i, where the cost of living is high, having three or more generations in a single house is a common reality.
The 'Ohana section is preparing a story on what it's like. Please tell us: What are the pluses of living this way is there teamwork in your family, or perhaps a special bond? Do the members of the household pitch in with chores or childcare? Do you have traditions that involve multiple generations?
And what are the drawbacks to living this way? Less privacy? Less room? Having to share a lot of things?
Most importantly, what ways has your family found to cope with the challenges?
