The Cades Award for Literature, founded in 1986, is seeking nominations for two writers:
- A proven writer with significant body of work of exceptional quality.
- A writer, not yet widely recognized, with a small body of work showing unusual talent and promise.
The Cades Award winners are given a monetary award funded by J. Russell and Charlotte Cades; the writers will also be honored at a presentation in November at the Honolulu Academy of Arts.
Those who wish to nominate someone in either category are asked to enclose a brief resume of the candidate and a letter explaining why the nominee is deserving to: Cades Award Committee, Hawai'i Literary Arts Council, P.O. Box 11213, Mo'ili'ili Station; Honolulu, HI 96828-0213.
