Achievers

Sharena Cotellesse, a recent graduate of Kaiser High, received a $3,000 Samuel N. and Mary Castle Memorial Scholarship from the College of Liberal Arts at Colorado State University.

The Coca-Cola Two-Year Colleges Scholarship Program awarded $2,000 to Ma'i'i Kamilla of Kapi'olani Community College. Recipients of $1,000 scholarships include:

Sherie Char and Christina Simpkins, also of Kapi'olani Community College, Anthony Lum and Mary Meyers of Honolulu Community College and Merlenna Rodgers of Heald Business College.

Hawaiian Cement awarded scholarships to the following recent high school graduates: Matthew N. Morden of Mililani High, $8,000; Joseph H. Bustillos Jr. of Maui High, $8,000; and Jacob M. Almanza of Maryknoll High, $4,000.

The Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation awarded scholarships ranging from $500 to $2,500 to: Kristin Haire of Kane'ohe, Michael Kaainoni of Kailua, Arthur Scotson of La'ie and Matthew Swayze of Honolulu.
