'Road rage' suspected in North Shore shooting

By Walter Wright
Advertiser Staff Writer

Two Wahiawa men arrested yesterday after an apparent "road rage" shooting near Hale'iwa late Saturday are being held for investigation of attempted murder.

The two, 18 and 20, were arrested along with a juvenile in Wahiawa. The arrests came after a motorist reported a shooting while driving with three passengers toward Hale'iwa on Kamehameha Highway. The driver and passengers said they passed another car, which then overtook them. As the second car passed by, someone inside fired at them.

A bullet struck the windshield, but no one was injured, police said.

The victims contacted police within minutes of the shooting shortly after 11 p.m. Saturday. The juvenile was released yesterday.
