It's hot, but not a heat wave

If you think it feels hot outside, take heart. It's normal.
There is no heat wave here, no withering triple-digit temperatures, thanks to the Pacific Ocean.
"In Hawai'i you have the great moderating influence of thousands of miles of water," said National Weather Service meteorologist Bob Farrell.
Farrell said the normal high this time of year is 88.7 degrees with a low of 75 degrees. Today's high was expected to hit 88, he said.
"We're running around normal temperatures with about normal tradewinds," he said.
Mostly sunny skies are forecast for the rest of the week, but isolated trade showers could increase on Saturday. Not much rain is expected. Tradewinds should remain at 10 to 25 mph.
But what about September? Gonna be hotter, right?
"On average, we are over the hill in September," Farrell said. "We can sometimes say September feels warmer because of lighter winds. But the month as a whole is not any different from August, maybe two-tenths of a degree less."
