A search for a 94-year-old man who wandered away from his Waimanalo home yesterday ended when he was found this morning in the hills above his home.

Nobuo Kaneshiro was found by a hiker at about 9:15 a.m. on Telegraph Hill above the New Town & Country Stables in Waimanalo, said Honolulu Fire Department spokesman Capt. Ken Tejada. The spot where Kaneshiro was found is more than a mile away from his Kumuhau Street home, he said.

Kaneshiro was in good condition, but a little weak, and the Air 1 helicopter lifted out from the trail, Tejada said. Kaneshiro was taken by ambulance to the Castle Medical Center for observation, Tejada said.
