Celebrations

Catalino and Lourdes Balmilero of Kane'ohe celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a party given by their six children and their children's families on July 28 at Pacific Beach Hotel. The Balmileros were married July 28, 1951, in Honolulu, and have six children, 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He is a retired stevedore. She is a retired U.S. customs inspectional clerk.

Richard and Irene Kaneshiro of Honolulu celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a surprise dinner given by Helen Higa, a close friend of the family, on March 17 at The Willows, as well as with a celebration given by their children — Tim Kaneshiro, David Kaneshiro and Erlene Wright — on July 14 at Nu'uanu Baptist Church. Richard and Irene Kaneshiro were married March 17, 1951, in Honolulu, and have three children and eight grandchildren. The Kaneshiros are retired.

Noah Austin Kauikeolani Park of Wahiawa celebrated his first birthday with a lu'au given by his parents, Cobey and Jason Park, and his grandmothers, Marjorie Tanaka and Coranne Park-Chun, on July 29 at He'eia State Park in Kane'ohe. Noah was born July 27, 2000.
