Around Town
Polynesian show gets a new name

By Wayne Harada
Advertiser Entertainment Editor

Additional Hawaiian songs and dances have led the creators of the Polynesian show at the Sheraton Princess Kaiulani Hotel to rename the production "Creation — a Polynesian Odyssey."

Numerous changes, including multimedia enhancements, characterize the three-year-old production, produced by Tihati Productions for the hotel.

The show, in the Ainahau Showroom, takes the audience on a journey from the creation of the islands in the South Pacific to the creation of the Polynesian man and woman and their trek through Polynesia, with stops in Hawai'i, Tahiti, New Zealand, Fiji, the Marquesas Islands and Samoa.

Dinner seatings are at 5:15 and 8 p.m., and cocktail seatings at 6 and 8:30 p.m. daily.

Reservations: 931-4660.

Fornier performs on the Northwest circuit, but includes Hawai'i and California, too.

She has garnered a clutch of awards over the years. In 1999, she won the Summy Award for Blues Woman of the Year, repeating her 1996 win.

Tickets: $10, with part of the proceeds benefitting Family Support Services of West Hawai'i and its Back to School program.

Dinner and drinks will be available during the performance.
