Teen arrested in home invasion robbery case

A 17-year-old Waipahu boy who was arrested in connection with a May home invasion robbery in Makakilo has been charged as an adult, police said.

A family court judge waived jurisdiction over James J. Bautista. He was arrested yesterday on suspicion of second-degree robbery, first-degree burglary, kidnapping, second-degree theft, third-degree promotion of dangerous drugs and a drug paraphernalia offense.

In June, police charged David Cassidy, 27, of Makakilo with possession of a prohibited weapon, second-degree theft, an ammunition offense, first-degree burglary, kidnapping and second-degree robbery in connection with the case. William Mara, 26, of Makakilo was charged with auto theft. Cassidy's bail was set at $100,000; Mara's at $15,000.

On May 29, two intruders forced their way into a 44-year-old woman's home when she answered the door. One choked her and demanded money. She broke free and ran to her bedroom. The intruders kicked in the door, forced her to open the safe, tied her up and stole her car. Leeward O'ahu Crime Reduction Units spotted the car on Hakimo Road and arrested the driver.

Police checked a nearby vacant townhouse and found two people with the woman's property.

Police searching for indecent exposure suspect

Authorities were searching for a 24-year-old fugitive who is wanted for questioning in two indecent exposure cases near 'Aiea in June.

Police said they want to talk to Nelson John Abiley about the cases that occured on June 21 at 98-310 Kamehameha Highway.

Abiley is wanted for two family court contempt warrants as well as a felony contempt of court, police said. Abiley, also known as John John, has nine felony convictions for first- and second-degree robbery and first-degree assault, second-degree burglary, promoting prison contraband, auto theft and escape, police said.

Abiley frequents the Waipahu and 'Ewa Beach areas. Anyone with information can call CrimeStoppers at 955-8300 or 911.

Information sought in Harley Davidson motorcycle theft

Kona police are seeking the public's help in solving the theft of a motorcycle earlier this month in Kailua-Kona.

On August 9, 2001, a thief or thieves stole a 2000 Harley Davidson Sportster 1200 from the underground parking lot of the Kona Pacific Condos, located between Kuakini Highway and Malua Road. The motorcycle had a license number of "301 HNG" and was described as a custom model with full chrome.

Anyone with information about the theft or the identity of the thieves is asked to call Officer Sean Smith of the Kona Patrol Division at 326-4646 or the police non-emergency number at 935-3311.

Thieves steal items from Hawaiian Beaches home

Puna police are seeking the public's help for information about the theft of 85 rolls of wire mesh and hand tools from a residence in the Hawaiian Beaches subdivision.

Sometime between June 6 and July 22, 2001, a thief or thieves stole 23 rolls of 19 gauge one-half inch and 62 rolls of 16 gauge one-half inch galvanized wire mesh from the open garage of a Puni Mauka Street residence.

A white wooden storage cabinet and several hand tools were also taken.

Anyone with information about the theft or the identities of the thieves is asked to call Officer Thomas Letulle of the Puna Patrol at 966-5835.
